Types Of Collars

NO BUCKLE SLIDE:  If you are looking to avoid bulk, then the No Buckle Slide (NBS) is perfect for you. It offers a sleek and streamlined look for those who would rather have a collar made without a buckle. To get it on, you slide it all the way open, slip it over your dogs head and then tighten. This type of collar comes with a slide for adjustment and a welded D ring.

CHAIN MARTINGALE:  If your dog often backs out of their collar on walks then the Chain Martingale is perfect for you. I also recommend these if your dogs neck or head is over 25”. These collars come with a metal slide for adjustment. They are not meant for water wear. I do not recommend these for necks that are less than 14” as the chain area is 5.5-5.75” long. The smallest a chain martingale can be made is 15”, you will have to adjust it down if your pets neck is smaller than that.

BUCKLE CHAIN MARTINGALE:  If you love chain martingales, but your dog doesn’t love having something slide over their head- then a buckle chain martingale is the perfect option. These are special order and not available on the main fabric page. You need to order a chain martingale and then add the buckle upgrade! These collars come with a metal slide for adjustment. They can only be made for necks that are 18” or larger.

PLASTIC BUCKLE: This is your traditional dog collar that you find in most pet stores. They are perfect for quick and easy on and off. This type of collar comes with a slide for adjustment and a welded D ring.

PLASTIC BREAKAWAY BUCKLE: These buckles are great for your kitty friends. Any pressure on the collar and the buckle will pop open to assure your animal remains safe. This is also a great option for your dog to wear around the house and I have had customers use them for their goats! They are not meant to be used for walks as they will break apart. This type of collar comes with a slide for adjustment and a welded D ring for tags.

METAL BUCKLE: The fanciest of all collars, the Metal Buckle. When you are looking to make a big bold statement- go with this one. This type of collar comes with a slide for adjustment and a welded D ring. Please take into account the size of your dog when choosing metal buckles. they are heavy! A 1” buckle weighs 2oz, a 1.5” weighs 2.3oz and a 2” weighs 2.9oz.

LIMITED SLIP: This type of collar tightens if your dog pulls. There is a welded D ring attached to a small amount of fabric that tightens when pulled, but only a limited amount. This type of collar comes with a slide for adjustment and a welded D ring.

FULL SLIP: New and improved style! This type of collar will also tighten when your dog pulls, but not a limited amount- all the way. They are great for dogs that can back out of their collars. This type of collar comes with a slide for adjustment and a welded D ring.

O Ring Tag Collar: This type of collar is a great option for everyday use around the house. You can hang a tag from the O ring. There is no D ring and this collar is not meant to be clipped to a leash. This type of collar comes with a slide for adjustment. This style is only available in 1”.

Halter Tag Collar: This type of collar is made specifically to display your favorite tags on! It hangs around your dogs neck like a necklace. I do not recommend these for small dogs, as the hardware is quite heavy. They also are never to be used to walk your dog on. They are simply jewelry for your pups neck. This type of collar comes with a slide for adjustment. This style is only available in 1”, and can be made with brass and or hardware.
